D700A 0673 3185137 BC Transit (BC) Flyer D700A6/73RETIREDto Kensington Transit Centre in June 1973 ex Oakridge Transit Centre in June 1973. This was the first D700A to be withdrawn, in April 1985, for structural defects. The bus lost its engine W/B at Kingsway and Victoria. The rear axle assembly broke away from the structure, causing the bus to run over its own wheels. It sat in the corner of Cambie Garage from April 1985 until April 1986, when it was fixed up as the "Infobus" at Expo-86. The loss of the drive-train from this bus may have resulted in 2601 never being converted to diesel. (JB); PM says this bus was the smoke hole at PCT.
